Arthritis

Many of Dr. Vitolo’s patients have not had any traumatic injury from athletics or the workplace, but are suffering from ongoing, debilitating chronic conditions. Some of these conditions are the result of advancing age, others may be genetic.

One of the most common chronic conditions that Dr. Vitolo has been treating for many years is arthritis, which is an inflammation in the joints.

The most common form of arthritis is osteoarthritis, which causes the cartilage in a joint to become stiff and lose elasticity.

Although osteoarthritis can occur in almost any joint in the body, it is most prominent in the weight bearing joints of the hips, knees, and spine.
